Dr. Fichera is a licensed psychologist who has been in practice for over 20 years in the South Florida area. After earning his Ph.D. in clinical psychology and following competition of a fellowship in psychological assessment and psychotherapy at the Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Fichera  opened his practice in Boca Raton where he divides his professional time between his clinical practice and his work in the area of forensic psychology. He has served on several professional boards and has been on staff at various hospitals in Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties. His professional activities have included the provision of clinical supervision to hospital staff members, and serving as an adjunct professor of psychology and practicum supervisor for clinical psychology doctoral students.

Dr. Fichera’s clinical areas of interest include individual, group and marital/couples counseling. He specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, addictions, and chronic pain. He has completed over 500 presurgical evaluations including evaluations for bariatric surgical candidates, couples preparing to undergo invitro fertilization, and spine surgery patients. His forensic practice has focused on providing psychological assessment and expert testimony on more than 1000 cases ranging from misdemeanor charges to capital murder, as well as various matters heard in civil court. Dr. Fichera has offices in both Palm Beach and Broward counties.
